All in the Scrapbooking Techniques!
You have your scrapbooking tools and materials, now learn to use them to your advantage with these scrapbooking tips and tricks.
Beginner Scrapbooking Techniques
Cropping photos is one of the basic scrapbook techniques. This scrapbooking skill makes big, clumsy photos fit on the page attractively. Crop however you like, but remember that less is more. You don’t want to go back later and wish you hadn’t cropped out so much. A little scrapbooking secret is to only crop out the unneeded or distracting stuff.
Another basic scrapbook technique is paper tearing. Tear a piece of colored paper for borders and mats.
An important scrapbooking skill is rubber stamping. With a stamp and acid free ink, decorate the page with images that compliment your photos. Another scrapbooking secret is to stamp the page in an unordered pattern to create a collage in the background!
Advanced Scrapbooking Techniques
One good advanced scrapbook skill is chalking. This technique works best on paper products, so use it to add dimension and color to clip art and die cuts. Use your imagination and don’t worry if you make a mistake, just erase it!
Another option is to alter your photos. Sand the edges, darken the edges with ink, make it look old and beat up. Only use this scrapbooking technique if you have a copy of that photo!
A different scrapbooking trick is creating a pop up page! I haven’t seen this technique being used too much, but it can look beautiful if done correctly!
