Create the perfect Scrapbook Layouts!

Once a theme is decided, you’re ready to make your scrapbook page layout! Your page design will have photos, journaling, mats, and other embellishments, so get all of your scrapbook supplies ready.

To start off, lay your scrapbook page on a table. Search through your photos, and find which ones you’ll want to include. Cropping out boring parts of the photo that take away from the main focus is important. It also helps reduce the size of the photo. Arrange your photos onto the page in the order you want. Try to put them on your scrapbook page in an order that tells the story of what happened that day. This is the scrapbook page layout that you will work around. Do not glue or tape anything yet.

Next, write some journaling on scrap paper and place it by the photo it belongs with. Try not to get too wordy, but get your point across. A poem or quote is a perfect scrapbook idea!

Now it’s time to lay out your embellishments. Before peeling any stickers, lay them out next to your pictures. This helps you decide where they should go before actually sticking them. The same goes for stamps. Stamp them on a small piece of scrap paper before stamping your page. Paper mats to place under photos make your page design more interesting! Remember, when you make a scrapbook page, nothing should be permanent until you see how it looks first.

Make changes to your scrapbook ideas and page layout until you are finally happy with it. Don’t go crazy with embellishments! You want everything to draw focus to the pictures, not away. You want all of your scrapbooking layouts to be simple and to the point, but still be fun to look at.

The final step is to glue or tape everything down to scrapbook page layout. The scrap pieces of paper with the stamps were just scrapbook layout ideas. Don’t actually glue those to your scrapbook, unless that adds to your effect. Otherwise, just write them on the page with some lines drawn with a ruler to separate each line and make it look tidy.

That’s basically how to create a scrapbook layout. As you get more experience, make your scrapbooking layouts more creative and original.
